BEFORE READING TIPS

Take a deep breath : Breathe in & breathe out.
You are going to read the ultimate guide to success : Think & Grow Rich
Stay focused and take notes or underline the favourite lines. Enjoy the experience.
I have provided summary and key takeaways from only two chapters, Desire and How to Outwit The Six Ghosts of Fear.
*The words which are in brackets (example...) are the excerpts from the book itself. Let's dig deeper.

Chapter 2

Desire

Leave Yourself with NO possible way of retreat:

Once there was a warrior who burned his ship once he reached the enemy's territory. All the soldiers got panicked and asked him for the reason. He replied, "Look, now our ship was burned and we got no choice for retreating and returning alive: 'Either we WIN or we PERISH'".

Likewise, you need to burn away the ropes that save you from free fall. Destroy all your backup plans but 'Back your plans' with Persistence and Ever Burning desire. Leave yourself with no choice but to WIN.

The Power of Dream:

Dream in such a way, that you will be able to feel the PHYSICAL REALITY of your dream ie., your dream coming true. And by doing so, you are getting ready to receive it. Dreams are important even in historical perspective such as,
  • The Great American dream
  • Henry Ford's dream for Horseless Wagon
  • Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam's dream on India becoming Super Power
  • Lincoln's dream for abolishing Slavery in U.S

Chapter 15
How to Outwit The Six Ghosts of Fear

The Six basic fears which every human suffers at one tune or another are,
  1. The fear of POVERTY
  2. The fear of CRITICISM
  3. The fear of ILL-HEALTH
  4. The fear of LOSS OF LOVE OF SOMEONE
  5. The fear of OLD AGE
  6. The fear of DEATH
The fear of CRITICISM :

Its origin couldn't be traced but it's very clear that it is very important to detect the symptoms of this fear within us than tracing its origin. The fear of criticism destroys the uniqueness in you and develops the Herd Mentality. (The fear of CRITICISM robs man of his initiative, destroys his power of imagination, limits his individuality, takes away his self-reliance, and does him damage in a hundred other ways).

Symptoms:

1. Self-Consciousness : Nervousness, timidity during conversations and in meeting strangers.
2. Lack of Poise : Lack of voice control, poor posture of body and poor memory.
3. Personality : Lack of ability to express opinions definitely, agreeing with others without examining.

READ Think & Grow Rich to explore other fears and symptoms.

Apart from those 6 fears there is also a bonus fear explained. Curious about it? Read the book.

In the final chapter there are TO-DO Self Analysis Questions. Below are some questions from it.

        d. acquiring useful knowledge
        e. plain waste

SALARY FOR HOUSEWIVES?!...

The topic become talk of the day after MNM leader Dr. Kamal Haasan (Chiku buku chiku buku big boss- just joking), announced that the party would recognize homemakers as salaried professional and would pay wages for their work at home. It is not something new to us. This was the demand of women’s movement for years. The Third National Women's Liberation conference, in England in 1972, for the first time explicitly demanded payment of wages for the household work and since four decades have passed. Before going still further I would like to make clear that the views expressed are personal. WHAT? To start simply, what are the domestic work our moms do in a day ? She starts her day early in the morning, cooks breakfast and lunch (In my home both are same unfortunately😂), washes your clothes, irons it, washes all the utensils, keeps the home clean and more than anything else, never ever failed to shower love upon us  despite all her works.
